One day changes everything......
Yesterday around 3:30pm my 18 year old niece, Makenzie McLaurin was involved in a very serious car accident not far from her home. She was driving her Ford truck down a very twisty road; a road she drives everyday without incident. A road she is used to, a road close to home. She swerved after hitting an embankment then over corrected thus causing her to veer off the road and hitting a large tree head on. It is a miracle she survived the accident. She was flown via LifeFlight to Hermann Hospital in Houston. She has several broken bones, including both leg femurs, serious injuries to her left ankle, serious foot injuries, broken facial bones, many lacerations. She does not appear to have brain injuries and her internal organs seem to be fine. We are thankful for that, and for the fact that she is alive! So many of her friends and family have come to the hospital to support her and my sister Pam and brother in law Chuck. Your prayers have been extremely important in the healing process thus far. Please continue to pray for her and her mom, dad, and big brother Kaleb. We have a long recovery ahead of us. She is to graduate from Big Sandy High School in 4 weeks. She had the first of many surgeries this morning, and is stable. I will try to post everday. Thank you my brothers and sisters.......

We are praying hard here at the Sims' household. We know God performs miracles and Makenzie couldn't be in better hands. We love all of you so much!

I am so sorry Mary. I was in town and saw the ambulance head out that way. I am thankful that your family has a great community, school and church family to help support YOUR personal family. Your family is lifted up in our prayers.
ReplyDeletePam,Chuck,and Kaleb-
ReplyDeleteI'm asking God to let every thought of Mackenzie or your family be a prayer on your behalf. The last two days have been filled with prayers for all of you. I know Mackenzie is going to recover, just hold on to God,and let the people that love you, minister to you. If there is anything you need don't hesitate to call. I'm believing with you for a complete recovery for your sweet and beautiful baby girl.
Love and Prayers,
Cindy Peters
